           " LAST NIGHT I WISHED ON A STAR"

                         By: CZARINA MEI MANZANO



Last night I wished on a star

I asked for someone who'll make me smile

Star smiled and said to me

"Patience, child, it'll take a while


Last night I wished on a star

I asked for someone who'll never make me cry

Star turned to me, with tears in his eyes

"That's quite impossible, but I'll try."


Last night I wished on a star

I asked for someone who'll hug me tight

Star held me close,locked me in his arms

"My warmth's all yours for the night."


Last night I wished on a star

I asked for someone who'll journey with me

Star entwined his fingers in mine

"While he's not here, let me be."


Last night I wished on a star

I asked for someone who'll love me in return

Weird but this time, star said to me

"It's your love that I yearn."


Star looked at me, and whispered sweet words

"I want to be your wish granted even if it's wrong"

And in that moment I finally realized

It was him I was asking for all along

 FICTION (CREATIVE WRITING)                    "THE GOLDEN EGG"                   By: CZARINA MEI A. MANZANO Zaza a poor barber lived alone in his small hut. He was dedicated to his work. And whatever he earns was enough to fulfill his needs. One evening, after returning from work, Zaza was hungry. “What shall I cook tonight?" he thought. Just then he heard a hen outside his hut. “That hen would make a great feast for me," thought Zaza and prepared to catch the hen. With a little effort, he was able to catch the hen. As he was about to kill the hen, it squeaked, “Please do not kill me, O kind man! I will help you." Zaza stopped.
